Prerequisites
Portal Connect is installed automatically when you install Expense Management. You do not need to install it separately.
Before running the setup wizard, confirm that you have everything listed here.
License credentials
You need two values that identify your organisation to the A4D cloud:
| Item | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Customer ID | Provided by Truvio upon purchase |
| License Key | Provided by Truvio upon purchase - a GUID in the format xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx |
Have both values to hand before starting the wizard - the first active step asks you to enter them.
Business Central permissions
| Requirement | Why |
|---|---|
| Global Administrator of the Business Central environment | Required for the consent step in the wizard - this grants the A4D cloud access to the Business Central web service. Cannot be delegated to a lower-permission role. |
| A4DAdmin_EX permission set | Required to access Portal Connect pages and manage logins after setup. See Permission sets. |
Environment
- Business Central online (AppSource). These instructions cover the cloud/AppSource variant only.
- At least one Business Central company to connect. If you are running in a sandbox, note that only one sandbox can be connected to the A4D cloud at a time.
What you run the wizard for
The wizard serves two distinct purposes and may need to be run more than once:
| Purpose | When | Who runs it |
|---|---|---|
| Connect the Business Central environment | Once per Business Central instance - grants consent and registers the Business Central environment with the A4D cloud | Global Administrator |
| Activate a company | Once per Business Central company that should use the cloud service | Admin with A4DAdmin_EX |
If your Business Central environment is already connected (for example, consent was granted when setting up a different company), the Verify License and Give Consent steps are skipped when you run the wizard for a new company. You go straight to the Activate Company step.
